Configuring Thunderbird for Windows



Thunderbird is an e-mail client made by Mozilla. To learn more about this product, click here to go to the Thunderbird home page or to download Thunderbird.

The following instructions assume that you have a proper installation of Thunderbird and a PureSpeed Internet account.

  • From the Tools menu, choose Account settings.
     
  • Click the Add Account button.
     
  • Select Email Account on the popup screen and then Click Next.
     
  • Fill in the Your Name and Email Address on the next page and then click Next. (Your Name with the name you want email recipients to see.)
     
  • Click the POP3 box and enter mail.tidalwave.net for the Incoming Mail server.
     
  • Click the Use Global Inbox box and then click Next.
     
    IMPORTANT: If you have more than one email address and prefer to keep the mail separate, do not click this box.
     
  • Enter your Username on the User Names page and then click Next.
       
  • Enter the name you want to appear on the account list (examples, work email, home email, purespeed email) on the Account Name page and then Click Next.
     
  • Select Outgoing Mail Server from the list on the Account Settings page.
     
  • Click the Add button.
     
  • Enter Purespeed Mail Server in the Description field and mail.purespeed.com in the Server Name field.
     
  • Leave the Port set to 25.
     
  • The Use name and password box should be checked.
     
  • Enter your Username in the appropriate field.
     
  • The TLS, if available box should be checked.
     
  • Click OK.
